square formed by the intersection of three major thoroughfares in Manhattan, New York City, and named for The New York Times, whose offices were originally located there

Note: Times Square is noted for its numerous neon signs and its continuous-feed electronic news-bulletin board and as being the site of the annual celebration of the arrival of the new year.
